In early 2003, as a reaction to the poor nightclub-action at that time, a group of friends and colleague-deejays (Ir.Vendermeulen, Charley Rhythm, Wilf Plum, Eddy de Clercq, Piet Popcorn) started Amsterdam BeatClub. These parties often feature live music, Burlesque-shows, à Go-Go-dancers and cult veejay-visuals. First starting out at ultra-small underground venues, Amsterdam BeatClub soon turned out to be a huge succes and with that more parties came and venues grew.. |
Ir.Vendermeulen is besides a
DJ also Sax,- and Theremin player plus
producer. Charley Rhythm is besides a DJ also organisor of Burlesque FreakOut, 1920's party RaZzin' and owner of booking agency Madame Risquée that specialises in Burlesque related shows. Together they are also known as D/VJ duo the Scopi-Tonics, who mix vintage film clips with danceable tracks on vinyl! |
